Christian D. González, MD, FIPP is a board certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician. He is clinical director of perioperative medicine and pain management for Miami Neurological Institute.

Dr. González follows a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, offering his patients a wide variety of therapies and procedures to alleviate pain stemming from issues of the brain, spine, joints and peripheral nerves.

After completing anesthesiology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, Dr. González completed his training in pain medicine at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass. He served as the division chief of pain medicine at the University of Massachusetts prior to moving to Florida. He is currently the director of the training workshop for the American Academy of Pain Management and is the president and chief executive officer for the Massachusetts Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Dr. González is actively involved in training domestic and international physicians on pain management techniques and serves as a medical expert advisor and proctor for several device companies. He has published several medical papers and has spoken internationally on current pain management topics and research. His current research focuses on spinal cord neuromodulation for pain and radiofrequency ablation for chronic back pain.

Dr. González is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in anesthesiology and pain medicine and the World Institute of Pain in interventional pain medicine.
