AVENTURA, FL (April 26, 2010) - Miami Neurological Institute (www.miamini.com), a private practice specializing in minimally invasive surgeries for spine and brain disorders, today announced that Alisabeth Hearron, ARNP has joined its practice as a nurse practitioner.
In her role, Hearron is responsible for assisting Dr. Figuereo in the operating room, perioperative care of the neurosurgical patient, and educating hospital nursing staff on caring for patients who have undergone the unique surgeries offered by Miami Neurological Institute.
Miami Neurological Institute was founded by internationally recognized neurosurgeon Santiago Figuereo, MD, who performs several unique, state-of-the art procedures that are not currently offered in South Florida. These include craniotomy with hair preservation; minimally invasive spinal discectomy; minimally invasive endoscopic techniques for intracranial, skull base, and pituitary tumors; deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's disease; and surgical procedures for epilepsy.
Hearron earned her Bachelor of Science in Nurisng degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctorate of Nursing Practice degrees from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. She is a certified member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as well as the Association of Perioperative Nursing and the University of Miami Graduate Student Association.
